This is me at the age of 14 with my first coonhound puppy. I had read the book, Where the Red Fern Grows, and it sparked a dream built around coon hunting that remained for a long time. Buck never became the Grand Nite Champion I hoped he would be, but I had lots of fun! It was actually 2003, when I was almost 40 years of age, before I trained a Grand Nite Champion coonhound. I realized the power of a good book and I’m grateful!
