100 Days to 50: Day 42 – The Most Valuable Principles that Guide My Life

14. On Life’s Rhythm

According to [extra href=”#example” title=”Genesis 1:14″ info=”popover” info_place=”top” info_trigger=”hover” info_content=”14 Then God said, ‘Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night. They will serve as signs for festivals and for days and years.'” ] Genesis 1:14 [/extra], God established life to function within a framework of times and seasons. Solomon emphasized this principle in the great “time” chapter of Ecclesiastes 3. Every segment of life is seasonal: decades, years, months, weeks, days, childhood, adulthood, marriage, parenting, etc. Life is best lived if I’m aware of what season I am in, and if I do the right things in the right season. Life is not static. It will not stay the same. Living successfully in my next season of life hinges on my actions in my current season of life. Every season is essential and I must be thankful, prudent, and diligent in each of them. It might be the season for a nap! “Gotta stay in Rhythm!”

The photo above is of dad and me taking a much needed Sunday afternoon nap a few years back. It’s a new season. Dad’s in heaven and I’ve lost about 45 pounds since then!
