Yes, the big day is June 8, 2014! Today, February 27, 2014, I’m 102 days away from 50 years old. A half a century sounds like a long time, but…it isn’t. At least the 50 years I’ve experienced hasn’t been! Through the years I have watched some people go a little crazy at this point. Some go crazy at age 40, or even 30 as they think REAL life is over! Not me! I’m looking forward to the next season of life and I’m intentionally leaning that direction. Don’t get me wrong, I loved my childhood, my teens, and each season that’s brought me to where I am; but I don’t want to go back. It’s time to move on. My first half-century has been an amazing ride, but I’m ready for the next horizon!

I hope you will join me as I celebrate and commemorate this significant passage of life. During the 100 days leading up to my 50th birthday, I will be writing about the most influential people who’ve shaped my life, and what I have learned from them. I will also write about the evaluation process I’ve been going through to gain perspective on my past life and to clarify vision and passion for my future.

Why should you join me in such a journey? Because regardless of how old you are, soon you’ll be taking a similar journey of your own. Maybe your next big one is age 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 75, or 80. Each one can be a stepping-stone to your greatest season yet; but it won’t by accident. You need a plan. You may already have one. If you do that’s great. If you don’t, I will share with you mine with hope that it adds value, depth, and meaning to your journey and helps you keep life in focus!!!
