Earlier this year, my mother was diagnosed with brain cancer and many of you have heard me speak on what an amazing testimony to the Christian walk she was in life and especially so after receiving her diagnosis.  Momma went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 12.  She passed away at her home in Tallapoosa, Georgia, just a couple hundred yards from where she was born.

Momma was most known as a selfless, encouraging, and caring person.  She was predictably sweet, kind, simple, and easy to love and talk to.  She was devoted to her husband, her four sons and their families.  Many non-related people call her “Momma” or “Maw Maw Dean.”  In her final journey against brain cancer, she said, “I just want to leave a good legacy for others to follow.”  And that she did, singing in a different church each Sunday and telling how blessed she was by her awesome Savior.  She was a devoted Christian and had taught Sunday School, worked with children, served as a Deacon’s wife, and loved to sing.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her; but for those who know Jesus, they will see her again.

I would like to thank all of you for your love and support that you have shown me and my family during the past few months.  You can continue to help our family during this time by supporting us through prayer.  Thank you again for how you have loved our family so well!

  1. We are with your family in prayer. To be in your life and hear the words God places on your heart, to have witnessed Maw Maw Dean’s testimony and have Midway we consider family We are truly blessed.. Thank you

  2. I was cleaning out my back bedroom this past weekend and I popped Dean’s CD into my computer and listened to it in entirety while I cleaned. I was truly being sung to by an angel. I will never forget Mrs. Dean Wright, a faithful servant of God, and a long-time family friend.
